Almost every custom metal sign we make starts life as one of our aluminium signs; aluminium doesn't rust, it stays light enough to fix to almost anything, and it takes a UV digital print beautifully. Where the metal makes the difference is in the grade and the finish:
- Aluminium composite (Dibond / ACM) - a 3mm sandwich of two aluminium skins around a solid core. Rigid, flat and weatherproof, this is the workhorse behind our custom aluminium signs in white, matt black and brushed finishes.
- Brushed aluminium - a directional satin grain that reads as premium under reception and office lighting without the glare of a gloss panel.
- Brushed brass-effect aluminium - the warmth of brass in an aluminium panel, printed with your logo and far lighter to fix than a solid metal plate.
- Aluminium with wood and acrylic layers - stacked panels that combine a metal face with timber or clear acrylic for depth, used a lot in hospitality and boutique retail.
- Anti-graffiti laminate - a high-gloss protective face bonded over the print, specified on street-level and public-facing panels where cleaning matters.

Printed, Cut and Built-Up Metal Signage
How your metal sign is made changes what it can do. We work three main ways:
- Digitally printed panels. Artwork is UV printed directly to the surface of the aluminium for long-lasting graphics, then CNC cut to a square, rectangle or simple shape. It's how most of the printed metal signs on this page are made, and the right route for full-colour logos, photography or complex artwork.
- Cut-to-shape panels. Rather than dropping your logo into a rectangle, we cut the panel to the outline of the shape itself, which is what gives a fascia or a wall logo its finished look.
- Built-up metal letters. Individual 3D metal letters and logos, mounted proud of the wall on stand-offs so they cast a shadow. We supply these in gold, brushed aluminium and full 3D metal letter logos.

Fixings and Installation Options
Keen on flexibility? Your fixing method should match the surface and how permanent the sign needs to be, so we finish panels to suit.
- Screw fixed. We supply 5mm drill holes in the corners, 25mm to the centre of the hole, ready to screw straight to the wall. Black aluminium screw cap covers are available to finish them off.
- Stand-offs. Two options. Silver aluminium wall spacers sit on the face of the sign with a 12mm head diameter, or SnapFix hidden rear stand-offs space the panel 15mm off the wall with nothing visible at the front. Either way the sign gains depth and a shadow line, and the number of spacers is shown on your proof.
- Post mounted. Panels can be mounted on posts for car parks, site entrances and anywhere there's no wall to fix to.
- Tray and hanging systems. Aluminium tray signs and metal hanging sign trays for fascias and projecting signage.
Because these are all surface fixings, a metal sign can be taken down, moved or updated later without damaging the panel, which is worth knowing if you're in a leased unit.

What material are your metal signs made from?
Most of our printed metal signs are 3mm aluminium composite, which is two aluminium skins bonded to a solid core. It's rigid, weatherproof and rust-free. We also supply brushed aluminium, brushed brass-effect aluminium, and built-up 3D metal letters, plus panels that layer aluminium with wood or acrylic.
What size can a metal sign be?
We offer a number of standard sizes but can also make custom metal signs to your dimensions rather than to a fixed size chart. This means you can make a metal sign to any size; just get in touch if you want to discuss your requirements!
How are metal signs fixed to a wall?
Screw fixing is the standard method: we supply 5mm drill holes in the corners, 25mm in from the edge. You can also specify stand-off fixings, which hold the sign 15mm off the wall on 12mm spacers for a floating look, or have the panel mounted on posts where there's no wall to fix to.
Can metal signs be used outdoors?
