13. UK Sign Shop Installation Services

13.1 Scope of Service

Where agreed in writing, UK Sign Shop Ltd will provide installation services as a paid add-on. This includes only the installation of signage and associated fixings supplied by us, unless otherwise explicitly agreed.

13.2 Site Access & Preparedness

You are responsible for ensuring clear, safe, and uninterrupted access to the installation site at the agreed date and time. This includes:

  • Provision of any necessary access equipment unless otherwise agreed (e.g. scaffolding, powered access, lifting gear)
  • Ensuring the site is structurally sound and ready for installation (e.g. walls or surfaces are suitable for fixings)
  • Gaining all required permissions or permits for signage or installation works

Delays caused by inadequate site readiness or access may result in additional charges at our standard hourly/day rate, including travel expenses where applicable.

13.3 Health & Safety Compliance

UK Sign Shop Ltd reserves the right to postpone or abort installation if, in our opinion, the site poses a health or safety risk to our team. In such cases, we will attempt to reschedule the work, but you may be liable for associated costs if the issue was avoidable.

13.4 Post-Installation Responsibility

Once installation is complete, you are responsible for ongoing inspection and maintenance of the signage. UK Sign Shop Ltd accepts no liability for damage, injury, or loss caused by failure to maintain or inspect installed signage after handover.

13.5 Cancellations or Rescheduling

Installation appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled by you up to 72 hours before the agreed time without penalty. Cancellations or changes made within 72 hours may incur a charge to cover labour, travel, and scheduling costs.

13.6 Liability for Damages

While all care will be taken, we cannot accept responsibility for:

  • Any pre-existing structural issues
  • Hidden services (e.g. electrical cables, pipes) not clearly marked or disclosed
  • Minor surface damage (e.g. drill holes, paint chips) incurred as a necessary part of installation

You are advised to notify us in writing of any sensitive areas, known hazards, or concealed services prior to works commencing.

14. Wall Vinyl Graphic Installations

14.1 Surface Suitability

Wall vinyl graphics are installed using specialist, approved materials suited for indoor smooth-surface application. However, long-term adhesion and visual quality are highly dependent on the condition and preparation of the surface.

14.2 Customer Responsibility – Surface Preparation

You are responsible for ensuring that the wall or surface is:

  • Smooth, clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, or silicone residues
  • Recently painted surfaces are fully cured (minimum 14–21 days depending on paint type)
  • Free of flaking paint, textured coatings (e.g. “eggshell” or “orange peel”), or contaminants that may hinder adhesion.
  • Paint is not “easy clean” containing ingredients that actively repel surface vinyl.

If required, a surface suitability guide can be requested prior to installation.

14.3 Adhesion Disclaimer

Failure to follow proper preparation guidance may result in poor adhesion, edge-lift, bubbling, or early detachment. UK Sign Shop Ltd will not be held liable for failures caused by:

  • Inadequate surface preparation
  • Unsuitable paint finishes or wall coatings
  • Environmental conditions at the time of installation (e.g. dampness, temperature extremes)

14.4 Site Testing (Optional Service)

A surface adhesion test can be arranged prior to installation for an additional fee. This involves applying a small sample swatch to test bond suitability. This service is recommended for painted or unknown surfaces.

14.5 Post-Installation Care

Do not clean or wipe the vinyl graphic for 72 hours after installation to allow adhesive curing. Use only mild soap and water for future cleaning; avoid solvents or abrasive products.

15. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, with disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
